Information You Submit
Search Terms
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box passes to the independent provider that operates the tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages
When you email or submit a contact message, we retain what you send long enough to respond and handle the request. We do not share a message outside the organization unless law requires it.
Technical Data Collected
Routine logs and measurement tools may receive technical details during a page load, including:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring page, when supplied; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookie Controls
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and may support advertising. You can block or remove cookies through browser settings, though some features may then work differently.
How Data Is Used
Collected information may be used to operate and speed up the site, send a search request to the chosen partner, learn which pages visitors find useful, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and display advertising that may reflect user interests.
Outside Websites and Advertising
Links lead to sheriff and corrections pages, Georgia public-record portals, federal systems, and third-party search services. Once you leave, the destination's privacy notice controls its collection and use. Georgia's Open Records Act, including O.C.G.A. 50-18-70 through 50-18-72, governs government record access, not the private site's handling of visitor data.
Advertising partners may track activity across websites for interest-based ads. That tracking takes place through their systems and policies, not a Lanier County government system.
Parties Receiving Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be provided to search partners that process a query, analytics vendors, advertising networks, and law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful demand.
Security Measures
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to data under our control. No internet service, network, or storage method is fully secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Contacts page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, you may ask for a copy of personal data we hold, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or an opt-out from certain processing. Browser controls can also limit cookies. Requests should go through Contacts.
Changes to This Notice
This notice may be revised as services or legal requirements change. A revision takes effect when posted here with its new effective date.
